English
During summer vacation, we request students spend time reading to continue developing their ability to complexly engage texts. Students should purchase the books required for their class and read the works over the summer. We encourage active reading through annotation. Please note that if a student changes their course level over the summer, they are responsible for the summer reading assigned for the section to which they are moving.

Students should be prepared for a summer reading assessment the first day of class. This test is designed to gauge whether they have closely read. We are also requiring each student return to school with a full draft of one college essay. See class notes below for details.

AP Biology:
AP Biology is a big course with a lot of content to cover.  In order to ensure we can hit the ground running in August, I am assigning summer work to review some concepts that you have learned over the past few years in Biology and Chemistry.  Please see this document for details. All assignments are due August 9.

AP Environmental Science:
AP Environmental Science covers broad topics spanning multiple disciplines. The successful student can explain both the small details and also comprehend, analyze and explain the big picture. Since this is a course with a lot of content to cover, the best way for us to hit the ground running is for you to think through the big picture this summer. To do that, I hope this FUN work will get you inspired and engaged. Please see this document for details. The final deadline for assignments is Thursday, 08/08. However, EACH assignment has an earlier deadline. If you meet that deadline, I will award EXTRA CREDIT.
