Rising 9th Grade Summer Work

For English:
During summer vacation, we request students spend time reading to continue developing their ability to complexly engage texts. Students should purchase the books required for their class and read the works over the summer. We do not assign writing over the break, but encourage active reading through annotation. Please note that if a student changes their course level over the summer, they are responsible for the summer reading assigned for the section to which they are moving.

Students should be prepared for a summer reading assessment the first day of class. This test is designed to gauge whether they have closely read.
